Where has the summer gone?

I can't believe it is the end of August, kids are back in school and Labor Day is quickly approaching. In the beginning of summer, I started a 100 day challenge to make 100 dress blocks based on the book, The Hundred Dresses. It wasn't easy making sure I took time each day to make a dress but I persevered and realized that I'm on my last 9 dresses! I also realized that I haven't blogged since July!

Many dresses were stitched since then but I will only post a few here. If you want to see all of them you can see them on my Instagram or Facebook posts.

All the fabrics used in the dress blocks are from fabrics in my stash.
To involve others in my challenged, I asked those that wanted to vote for their favorite dress/girl. Several friends on Instagram and Facebook voted each week. It was interesting to see how varied everyone's choices were. This was a fun project with just a week to go!

What else have I've been doing?
I finished my quilt based on Denyse Schmidt's class, The Proverbial Quilt. See my previous post. I will take photos over the Labor Day weekend. Stay tuned.

I made the August blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC)! August color is Aqua/Turquoise blue.

I finished the Scrappy Meets Thrift Challenge top. It is next in line for quilting!

Finally, my daughter and I spent last Friday indigo dyeing. Here are my results!

Another fun day of craftiness!

100 Dresses Challenge

2 weeks went by in a flash and I didn't get to posting about my #100daysummer2025 challenge! I did post on Instagram and Facebook but posting here requires a bit more time. We had a busy week as we hosted our 2nd annual Mormor and Morfar camp (grandma and grandpa) which included 3 days of field trips, splash pads, crafts, learning time, reading, picnics, and plenty of ice cream!

So here are 14 days of dresses!

My favorite from this week was # 35

Once again I changed up the hair and skin colors for the next week.

My favorite from this week's selection of dresses is # 42

If you're playing along, let me know which is your favorite for the week by noting the Day # in the comments!

I appreciate your support and encouragement!

100 Days of Summer Challenge

We were out of town last week so I wasn't able to post last week's dresses here.    (I did post on Instagram and Facebook.) So I will post 2 weeks of dresses today.

Days 15 - 21

My favorite from this week is Day 15! What is your favorite? You can play along here by making note of the Day # in the comments or on my Instagram or Facebook page!

Several people questioned whether I would change up the 'girls". I have been using fabric that I used for skin and hair tones from a previous project so I started there. After looking through my stash, I did find some skin and hair tones to change up the girls.
Here are Days 22 - 28

Once again, I had a hard time choosing my favorite! I keep changing my mind but I finally settled on Day 22 this week! What about you? Let me know in the comments if you want to play along! I appreciate you!

Another bit of catch up...A couple of weeks ago, I made a tote bag for my friends birthday. She is a Mr. Potato Head fan. Here is what I made!
I raw edged appliquéd Mr. Potato Head's parts on the bag I made. I also found an Amigurumi pattern for a key change doll. My friend loved it! Yay!
