100 Dresses Challenge

2 weeks went by in a flash and I didn't get to posting about my #100daysummer2025 challenge! I did post on Instagram and Facebook but posting here requires a bit more time. We had a busy week as we hosted our 2nd annual Mormor and Morfar camp (grandma and grandpa) which included 3 days of field trips, splash pads, crafts, learning time, reading, picnics, and plenty of ice cream!

So here are 14 days of dresses!

My favorite from this week was # 35

Once again I changed up the hair and skin colors for the next week.

My favorite from this week's selection of dresses is # 42

If you're playing along, let me know which is your favorite for the week by noting the Day # in the comments!

I appreciate your support and encouragement!

Week 2 of my 100 days of summer challenge and more

Week 2 of my 100 days of Summer challenge is finished. Dresses 8-14 are now ready for viewing!

I'm having a lot of fun putting together the outfits from my scraps! On Instagram and Facebook, I put a little survey to pick the weekly favorite! Would you like to play along? Just add your favorite to your comment by mentioning the Day number. If you are interested, you could choose one from last week also here. (Just scroll down a bit to find the dresses!)
My favorite from this week is #11.
It  is hard to choose one and I kept changing my mind. 😜

Last month, I took a video class with @craftymonkies and taught by @GaryMillsDesigns to learn Kawandi quilt making. It was on my quilting bucket list for quite some time. This piece is a practice piece and is not very big and does not have the traditional Fula on the corners but decorative points on one side.

Kawandi is all hand stitched and pieced as you go from the outside to the inside. I love the drape on Kawandi quilts because you use a lighter fabric rather than batting in the layer. I'm gathering up supplies to try my hand at a larger quilt! Have your tried Kawandi quilt making?

Just a quick post

Argh! We have had problems with our internet service lately... hate when that happens. I wanted to do a quick post yesterday but again no internet service. Finally they came out today and hopefully fixed our service.
Anyways...I had a couple of finishes that I wanted to show. The first being this paper pieced picture of a hummingbird.

It is framed in a 9" x 9" frame.  The paper piecing was a little different because of the curved seams in the wings and tail.  On my first attempt, I used too dark of a turquoise blue and the poor little hummingbird kind of got lost. I am much more pleased with my 2nd go around.

If you remember, a couple post back I showed a table runner kit I bought featuring Hometown by Sweetwater.  I finished set aside some other WIP's to sew this kit.
 I.am.smitten.

It goes perfectly in my dining room of deep red walls!
And my favorite part...look closely and you can see my hometown. Here let me help you get a closer look.
Right under Pittsburgh in the center is Chicago...yep!

It is fun to read all the different 'hometowns.' Have you found yours?
Did you notice the giant rick rack trim? Too Cute! The pattern is Riff-Raff Runner by Silk Road Creations.  I am now waiting on more material to arrive so I can make matching place mats.

A few other things are going on here but I can't say yet. So stayed tuned in.

Busy as a Bee

I have been busy... not only in the sewing room.  Here's what I made for Valentine's Day.

I followed the tutorial from Pleasant Home

After a little break, I worked on my daughter's wedding quilt and now the borders are on and it's ready to be sandwiched.  I need to get to the store to get some batting.  It is really looking good! Sorry, no pictures.

I also sent out these mug rugs and extras to my secret swap partner, Helle in Denmark.  She received them and really liked them! Yay!

How cute is that little cat cookie plate?  And the mug is so cute!  It says 'time for tea with a cat on my knee.'  The box is just as cute.

I so enjoyed making the paper pieced cat that I had to make this mug rug...for me?

This is a free pattern from Artisania...here.
I think I may be in love with small paper piecing!

I am also completely caught up with the Block-A-Palooza blocks. These are the first 6 blocks and

Block 7 (oops...it says block 6)

See more blocks on the flickr group page.

Caught up on stitching the Give Thanks BOM from Jenny of Elefantz, too. Verses 2 & 3 are done.  A great reminder of all the blessings in my life...God's beautiful creation and my warm home.  The little verse cards are interchangeable.

Finally, I finished the 1st block in the Birdie Stitchery BOM.  I was so close to finishing when I ran out of yellow floss.  One swirl on the birdies little belly and no more floss.  To make it worse, Hobby Lobby was out of the yellow I needed.  I either had to wait for Hobby Lobby to call and tell me they got it in OR get to Joann's.  It took a couple of days but I got some more yellow floss and finished the block.  Now I'm working on Block 2.

I was so excited to have it finished I didn't even press it before I took the picture. Yikes! You can see more on the flickr group page.

I told you I've been as busy as a bee!
