February RSC blocks

Today I am sharing my RSC blocks for February (and January). February's color is blue! I have lots of blue scraps in my stash so I made 5 blocks of each of my blocks patterns.

This is my traditional block.
In January, I only made 3 blocks of each so I added 2 more pinks!
This is my improv block.
Again I added 2 more blocks of pinks.
I'm liking these blocks a lot! Can't wait to see how this all develops! Linking to Scrap Happy Saturday @So Scrappy

Happy Valentine's Day!
I love to make cards for my friends and family for Valentine's Day. This year I decided to play with watercolors and hearts. I searched for inspiration on Pinterest and this is the result of my play!
These are postcard size cards. I wrote little messages to each person on the back.
It was a fun activity!
I also made 3 postcards with stitched paper hearts for my 3 grandchildren. Here is a picture of 2 of the 3 cards. I forgot to take a picture of the 3rd before delivering it. ðŸ¤·‍♀️ It was like the bottom heart but in red thread.

Best Buds and RSC

I joined in on the Best Buds QAL which is hosted by Lindsey @PenandPaperPatterns. I have made several of her patterns (and purchased several more). I am drawn to her designs!  Her patterns are well written and easy to follow. I am using fabric in my stash. To figure out if I liked the combination, I made 2 blocks - 1 in each color combination.

I liked the outcome and it will feel so good to use these old fabrics in my stash!
In between sewing these cute flowers, I was working on the 2nd Metamorphosis quilt for my friend's niece. I am holding off showing these pictures until I deliver it. Maybe next week if I can get in a photo shoot.
Today, I got back into sewing along with the Best Buds QAL.  It is week 3 and by Friday I should have 14 flowers stitched. This is what my design wall looks like now - 10 flowers finished!

These blocks are 14.5" (unfinished) and 5 blocks just about span the entire width of my design wall.

Last week I also worked on my RSC block for February. The color is red this month.

For Valentine's Day, I made 2 fabric postcards for my grandchildren. I follow the tutorial by Annie @FreezeFrame03

and I played with paints, masking, stencils and collage making several Valentine's for some special people in my life!

Hope you all have had some productive weeks in February!

Slow Stitching, SAHRR and Macaron Mystery

Slowly I've been making progress on some of my projects.                       But first I want to share these Valentine's Day cards that I stitched up.

The cards are free from Christina Cameli @Afewscraps on IG. I have been a fan of Christina's for some time. At Christmas, she offered some cards to stitch. I was very tempted but we have been doing photo cards over the past few years so I didn't get them. When I saw her post about her Valentine's Day cards I immediately downloaded them and started stitching. I made 2 sets of them (slightly different). It was so satisfying to slow down and stitch these beautiful cards (even if I knew that                           some wouldn't get to their destinations in time). Better late than never!                           Thank you Christina for these lovely cards!

I worked on Round 5 for the SAHRR project. This round was hosted by Quilting Gail. She gave a choice of applique and/or fence rail. I choose to add some fence rails to the corners of Round 4. Although I'm not in love with it, it will have to do. I'm running short on fabrics that go with this orphaned block. Note:after I had this round together, I found more of my main black fabric but no more of any coordinating fabric. We will see what the next and final round brings!

I also finally put together the flimsy for the Macaron Mystery from Meadow Mist Designs. I still need to trim it up and add some borders on the top and bottom to make this quilt a bit of a rectangle. It is a bright one!
I'm very pleased with this pattern from Cheryl. It is my 3rd mystery
by her and I love all of them! Thanks Cheryl!
