Too Long!

I really miss my blog, my blogging friends, and quilting on a regular basis. I have about 1 month to go on my long term assignment and then I will be taking some considerable time off for myself!
My creative need is being satisfied by planning creative lesson plans for my first grade students. Although I enjoy teaching, I really miss my quilting.

I do have a finish to show as I finally found time to quilt and bind the second of the wedding quilts I started in the summer. The wedding is in a few weeks and the quilt is finished!
I have wanted to make a plus quilt for some time! I used Kona white for the background and Stonehenge by Northcott for the plusses.
The backing is a fabric I found at IKEA.
I chose to do straight line quilting both up and down and across the quilt.

I love the colors and brightness of this quilt I named Crossroads. I hope my niece and her fiance like it!

My Knitting Club have been knitting washcloths for our church's Prison ministry. I have knitted 10 washcloths.
Here we are on World Wide Knit In Public Day!

  1. Your plus quilt looks wonderful! I know how creative withdrawals feel!

  2. That is a terrific quilt. I'm sure they will love it!
That cool IKEA fabric...did you get it in store or online?

  3. You are blessing your family with so much love! It looks wonderful. I have pinned many plus quilts :). Still plugging away on my Craftsy BOM. I'm down to the paper piecing blocks. I have added 16 additional blocks to the plan. New grand baby is due next week on the 13 th! So will be plugging into baby mode soon....and then Christmas.

  4. Do you have any experience with wool appliqué? I wondered about washing a quilt with wool and cottons. I wanted to use wool for some snowman appliqué to add to my Craftsy BOM . I washed one piece of wool and dried it in the dryer. Made two blocks then washed another piece of wool in the washer and dryer it in the dryer.... It looks more like felted wool. Now I am wondering how the first 2 blocks will wash on my

  5. Quilt. Sorry for the 3 separate comments. I'm on the I pad and it is not cooperating with me.
