Wow! It has been a while since I've posted here. I haven't spent much time in my sewing room or reading blogs either :(
For the last 6 weeks, I have been very busy at work as I had a long term assignment teaching 2nd grade! I really enjoyed my class and teaching but it does take a lot more time than just subbing day to day. Planning, grading, meetings, report cards and all the special activities that happen at the end of the year.
I am ready for summer!
(If only the weather would cooperate)
A few things that I did try my best at to keep up with is the Art Journal Challenge. With June my birth month, I decided on a celebration theme!
I stamped in my birthday and a dear friend of mine's birthday.
I have plans to make the altered book cover that my pages will go in this summer...I have some ideas...hope it turns out as well as in my head :)
I also kept up with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. June's color is yellow.
I can't believe that we are 1/2 way finished with this year's challenge. Here are all my blocks!
I'm loving it...think I may make some more of each color! All the colors are from my scrap bins and it really hasn't had any effect on reducing the size of my scrap bins...at all!
You can see everyone's pretty blocks here.
Besides being busy at school, my daughter's came home and we were able to celebrate Mother's Day together (a week late but that's OK with me.)
My beautiful daughters!
3 generations!
Well that's all for now...but I promise to be back soon!
I am loving your rainbow blocks too. Very pretty daughters and mom. It looks like you have a great time.
ReplyDeleteI really, really love your scrap blocks! What a terrific quilt those are going to make into. I can't wait to see it all done. No pressure, dear. lol Your June calendar is a fabulous fun party for your birthday month. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures! Your daughters are lovely. Have a great birthday month and enjoy the summer!
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks. Great 3 generation photo!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my blog for the Traveling Stash!
Very pretty rainbow blocks. It will feel good for you to get back to more free time for sewing . My daughter is a teacher and there is not much energy for creativity during the year. Too tired at the end of the day. We try to make up for it in the summer..... but the days go by very quickly. It is hard to get everything my daughters want done and everything I want done. Sometimes my things take a back burner until school resumes. I am still trying to work on the Craftsy BOM. The Hexagons month has created some fear and trembling. But I am soon to check that month off. It would help if I just followed the directions but not so. Creativity wanted otherwise to fit the winter theme. I'm trying to figure out how to make a snowflake out of hexis. I'm calling it the Craftsy BOM Detour. :) It is all good just taking me longer as usual! Hope you have a great summer! Janita
ReplyDeleteYou are all looking so beautiful, so what you are going to do in summer?

Your daughters are simply gorgeous! From their smiles I can tell their beauty is not just skin deep but "Soul" deep. Summer is a great time to reconnect. Enjoy! I am a 30+ yr. retired teacher since Dec. 08 and love every minute of my freedom! Hope you get back in your sewing room soon!
